Royal Neuro Hospital Fibre Optic Infrastructure Project

HQ Cabling Services was tasked with upgrading the fibre optic infrastructure at Royal Neuro Hospital in London to enhance network performance and reliability. The project involved supplying and installing 24 x 10G Fibre Optic links across the hospital site, ensuring seamless connectivity for critical hospital operations. Additionally, outdated and redundant cabling needed to be removed to create a safer and more efficient environment.

Our team implemented a structured approach to complete the project efficiently and with minimal disruption to hospital services. The key steps included:

  • High-Level Cabling Removal: We safely removed the existing high-level fibre and fire cabling that had been disconnected and was no longer in use.
  • Fire Cabling & Catenary Wire Removal: We performed the first-fix installation of new fire cabling links between key hospital buildings. The current high-level catenary wire was also removed.
  • Fibre Optic Singlemode Interlinks: To strengthen the hospital’s network infrastructure, we supplied and installed two additional OS2 fibre links between the West and East Core network cabinets. We also provided new fibre trays at each cabinet location to support the installation.

The successful completion of the Royal Neuro Hospital Fibre Optic Infrastructure Project has significantly improved the hospital’s network capacity and resilience. By upgrading to high-speed 10G fibre links and removing outdated cabling, HQ Cabling Services has provided a future-proof solution that supports the hospital’s critical operations. The project was executed with precision, ensuring minimal disruption while enhancing connectivity across the site. All new fibre optic links have been successfully certified by our Fluke fibre optic analyser, providing the customer with PDF test certification. This certification allows HQ Cabling Services to offer a 25-year end-to-end material warranty, ensuring long-term reliability and performance.
