What is the difference between LCD and LED display?
LED (Light Emitting Diode) display is a screen display technology that uses a panel of In terms of their display technology and design, LCD displays almost look similar to LEDs. However, there are several differences between the two.
LCDs need a backlight to produce visible picture because they are not self-illuminating. This is not the case with LEDs which use LED lights for illumination.
LEDs are also smaller, hence more lightweight. Therefore, LED screen TVs are thinner.
LED displays feature a wheel of colours which helps to produce more realistic and sharper colours when they are used on TV screens and other electronic devices.
The dimming capacity of LED makes it possible for screens of different devices to display pictures with a true black element effectively. This happens when the LEDs darken and block more light from getting through the panel.
Unlike LCDs, LED displays are free from issues like anti-glare and distorted angles of viewing. They also have a greater viewing angle than the latter.
